P-Shot® Treatment in Toronto

What is the P-Shot?

The P-Shot, also known as the Priapus Shot®, is the brand name for a platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy procedure that is used for male sexual enhancement.

The P-Shot can help:

  • Strengthen and straighten the penis
  • Strengthen and lengthen erections
  • Improve sensation
  • Maximize the benefits of other sexual enhancement therapies

How does the P-Shot work?

The P-Shot is a specific type of PRP therapy that injects platelet-rich plasma into the penile shaft.

Plasma and platelets are two of the four components of blood. Plasma is the liquid component that helps platelets, red blood cells, and white blood cells, travel through the body. Platelets contain growth factors which promote healing throughout the body and help clot blood.

An accredited P-Shot healthcare provider draws your blood and runs it through a centrifuge, which divides your blood into components. The provider will take a sample of plasma that contains a high concentration of platelets and inject it directly into the penile shaft. The contents of the P-Shot heal damaged blood vessels in the penis, which strengthens erections and improves circulation and sensation.

What conditions does the P-Shot treat?

The P-Shot is used to treat erectile dysfunction, a common issue in which men cannot get or keep an erection long enough for sexual intercourse. It treats Peyronie’s disease, a condition caused by scar tissue creating a bend in the penis that makes sexual intercourse difficult or even impossible to achieve. The P-Shot can also be used to enhance overall sexual performance and function.

The P-Shot may be used alongside other treatment options, such as GAINSWave® therapy, a noninvasive treatment option that eliminates erectile dysfunction and Peyronie’s diseases at their root causes: scar tissue and microplaque build-up in the penis. GAINSWave uses sound waves to break up microplaque and scar tissue in the blood vessels while encouraging the growth of new healthy blood vessels, resulting in a longer, stronger erection. Using the P-Shot in conjunction with GAINSWave therapy helps the blood vessels heal faster and the new vessels develop even better than they would with GAINSWave alone.

At Oakwood Health, P-Shot patients are given the option to receive GAINSWave therapy to maximize the benefits of both sexual enhancement therapies.

Why should I consider the P-Shot for treatment?

Other sexual enhancement treatments and therapies often involve prescription drugs with undesirable and sometimes dangerous side effects. If you have certain pre-existing conditions, such as heart issues, you may not be able to take these drugs at all.

Some of these procedures involve surgery, which can involve more risks, a longer recovery time, and pain that may require prescription painkillers that may be addictive and dangerous. Not everyone is able to undergo surgery due to risks or pre-existing conditions.

The P-Shot is a drug-free treatment option; there are no prescription drugs or painkillers involved. It does not involve surgery; it is a simple injection procedure that’s typically completed within an hour. Most of our P-Shot patients can go back home or go back to work on the same day as the injection procedure.

Is the P-Shot safe?

The P-Shot is a drug-free and noninvasive procedure that improves sexual performance and function. Since the P-Shot uses your blood, there is nearly no chance of your body rejecting the treatment or having an allergic reaction to it.

The risks from the P-Shot are the same as any other injection treatment. You may experience swelling, redness, or bruising at the injection site, which subside and will go away within 4 to 6 days. In incredibly rare cases, it is possible to develop an infection or scarring at the site of injection.

Where can I find an accredited P-Shot provider in Toronto?

If other treatments and medications are not improving your sexual health, it is time to talk to your doctor about seeing an accredited P-Shot provider in Toronto, or contact an accredited provider directly.

All accredited P-Shot providers are required to undergo extensive training. Be wary of non-accredited providers; these healthcare providers and professionals are ones that have failed to meet the standards of P-Shot training.
